Coptic Hymns are melodies of love that nourish the spirit of both the singer and the listener, and when sung from the heart, have the power of drawing one closer to God in the Church. This course covers the Liturgical responses for the congregation in the St. Basil Liturgy, and a major part of Praises.

AAC114 Introduction to Coptic Archaeology                               

On Campus - Wednesday evenings 7.00pm - 9.30pm

Students of this unit will learn the definition of Coptic Archaeology, the seven stages of the Coptic archaeology, the particularities of each stage and examples from the different sites, artifacts and the most important sites in Coptic archaeology.

Students who take this unit will gain an understanding of the Christological teachings of the Coptic Church, the real reason for the depose of Dioscorus in the Council of Chalcedon, why the Oriental Orthodox Churches do not acknowledge the Council of Chalcedon, and the difference between the Oriental Orthodox churches, Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches.

DMF155 Christian Family                                                            

Intensive unit - 6/7th, 20/21st & 27/28th November

In the Christian understanding, the family is the core of the fundamental structure of the existence of man. In this unit students will gain an understanding of the proper inter-familial dynamics from a Christian perspective, the proper roles of different family members, their interactions and their possible complementary functions, and how to handle family problems from a spiritual and psychological perspective.
